Detailed and laborious work was undertaken to adjust the oil level in every pigment composition to optimise each colours performance on the canvas. Every colour is uniquely formulated with a crude and refined oil as the vehicle; linseed oil or safflower oil. The choice of oil was determined in relation to the chemical nature of the pigments.
